Music in Mind with Tameside Public Health

At the beginning of August, we finished one phase of our Music in Mind project in two Tameside care homes. Funded by Tameside Public Health, the project engaged people with dementia and carers in music-making in order to increase communication and mood and improve relationships with care staff. The sessions were extremely successful and it will be difficult to leave the two care homes, but we have delivered training sessions for the activities coordinators alongside the sessions so that they can pick up some of the music-making techniques. We are looking forward to working with two new care homes from September 2016 onwards.
